Senior Data Engineer leading large-scale banking data platforms. I build data pipelines for one in four Italians.
Turin, Italy
Senior Data Engineer at Intesa Sanpaolo, where I lead the design and development of the core banking data platform serving
16,000,000 customersFlink · SQL · BigQuery
I led the data migration strategy designed to move
4,000,000 customers to IsyBank, the group's new digital bankJava · PostgreSQL · Teradata
- Streaming and near real-time data pipelines (Flink)
- Data modelling and SQL at scale (BigQuery, PostgreSQL, Teradata)
- Core banking platforms on cloud (GCP), migrated off host
- Large-scale data migrations
- Batch orchestration and troubleshooting in production
- RAG pipelines and LLM agents (Python, FastAPI), self-hosted
Five years at Reply. iOS Engineer (Swift) and then Tech Lead of the Vodafone Station App (2M+ downloads, Red Dot Award 2019). I led a development team of up to 18 people, on an application serving 4 countries, and I was the customer's single point of contact.
My last project there was edge computing for Electrolux Professional: embedded Java on an IoT gateway, filtering sensor data on site so that only what mattered reached Azure IoT. Lower ingestion costs, better cloud performance.
On the AI side I build and run my own things end to end: RAG pipelines and LLM agents with Python on FastAPI, self-hosted on my own infrastructure, with observability I set up myself. I ship most of my code with agentic tools, and the hard part is not the speed: it is not building the wrong thing quickly.
